When
creating my front cover on Photoshop I added a Masthead which became one of
the main focus points of my magazine cover. I decided to make this on
Photoshop because I thought that it would be the easiest and most efficient
way of doing it as I know that I would be able to make changes at a later
date quickly and easily.
Before u
started creating my front cover I measured the magazine that I had analysed
so that I could get the measurements for my cover. I had to enter these
measurements into Photoshop before I started to create my product. When
creating my Front cover I used several layers, text boxes, shapes, this
allowed me to get my product to look the way I desired. My photos were not as
bright as I would have likes so I used the brightness and contrast to adjust
this so that it looked the way that I desired.
I also
created a Christmas card, when doing this I used brushes. I downloaded these
onto Photoshop, this enabled me to add badges, small Christmas images and
different brush effects to make my card look professional. This was easy to
do since it was my first time using downloaded brushes on Photoshop.
. I decided to make a
square card so I had to enter the correct measurements before I started on my
card. When creating this as well as
adding the brushes I changed the background colour and made the card the
shape that I desired. I then went on to add the brushes changing the colours
to get the effect I wanted for my card.

I created
two DPS documents in InDesign one was for a trial so I could work out how to
use the software and the second was the final DPS for my product. Before I
started to create the product I had to set the size for the document, I
measured the DPS that I was analysing and used the same measurements for my
own DPS. When using InDesign I created several text boxes so I could insert
my article. I linked the text boxes together so that my article would flow
threw out. After I had done this I inserted my picture, I found it difficult
to get the picture behind the text because of the text wrap tool. Once I had
overcome this I found it easier to use InDesign to make further changes.
I found that
InDesign crashes a lot when you are using it so I kept saving the document as
new copy to ensure that I did not lose any work.

I regularly
take photos on my phone, if I am taking a photo outside sometimes I use the
grid available on my phone this allows me to see what section of the photo is
going to be the main attraction. I
also use the panorama option of my phone. This allows you to capture a photo
on a larger scale. It allows you to expanded the view that your normal camera
can capture giving you a wider picture.

Arrilite
continuous lighting

I used this
in my photo-shoot to brighten the room so that my photos became as bright as
possible. It was easy to set up and adjust so I could change the lighting
depending on my photo, it was also easy to move around so I could change the
height depending on the location of my model. When I was moving the Arrilite
I found that I got very hot very quickly. This made it harder to move because
it was to hot to hold. Therefore an easy job became difficult, all because of
the heat. It also made it difficult for my model to stand in front of it for
a long period of time because it made the photography studio hot and un comftable.

When doing
my photo shoot I used the white backdrop. I decided on this because I wanted
my photos to be as light as possible. The only problem that I found with the
white background was the dirt on the floor. Every time my model moved the
white backdrop got dirty, this showed up when I was taking my photos. Luckily
I was able to get rid of this on Photoshop.
